Adaptogens - The Ultimate Stress Relievers

What is an adaptogen?

In short: adaptogens help your body handle stress; physical, chemical, or biological. They bring the body back to homeostasis. Think of adaptogens like exercise on the body. When we exercise it puts stress on the body, but as you continue to exercise the body becomes better at coping with that stress. For instance, you may not tire or have as elevated of a heart rate as easily as you once did.  

Adaptogens train your body to handle the effects of stress.  

Adaptogens are known to tweak hormone production and physiological responses to stress to ensure that the body, mind, immune system, and energy levels all function as they should.  

Sounds great right?! 

So, what are some of my favorite adaptogenic herbs? 

Rhodiola Root, Eleuthero Root, & Ginkgo Biloba. 

We use all of these herbs in our Stress Relief tea and our Energy tea. Both of these tea blends are geared for adrenal balancing, mental clarity, and depending on the which tea, either energizing or calming the body and mind.
